I have been thinking of the numerous ways I can give back to others, help others, and be involved in things that are meaningful to us and our journey after losing our daughter, Ellie Paige. The charity I am focusing on this month is the March of Dimes. The March of Dimes is close to my heart because their mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. On April 21st I (along with friends and family) will be participating in the March for Babies Walk in Myrtle Beach, SC. This event raises money to help support local programs that help mothers reach full term pregnancies and also enables people to rally together who have been through similar things (child loss, premature babies, babies with birth defects, etc). It is so important for these parents to know they are not alone. The money also funds research for finding solutions to problems that threaten the health of babies and they provide support to parents who have lost their babies or have babies in the NICU.
I cannot wait to share pictures with you from the walk. In the meantime, please donate to the March of Dimes by clicking on the link below. Every dollar counts and matters. If you are unable to donate then I ask that you please share the link with your friends and family.
Thank you !
